Over the weekend there was a jazz festival in Shanghai and a colleague told it was a pretty good time. What was really interesting about the festival however, was the crowd and what they were wearing. At a rough estimate, about 50 people were wearing faux tattoo sleeves! Having never seen anyone loud and proud in sleeves, I was a little shocked. Tattoo sleeves have taken the Shanghai jazz scene by storm but are they here to stay? Do they really look like genuine tattoos? What do the masses think? Lame or game?
To test this idea, we’re going to wear the sleeves around the city for one day and ask people what they think of them. Do the tattoos look real? Do they like them? Do they look hardcore? And clearly the MOST important question for would be wearers – are the sleeves smoking hot??? Hard-to-the-Core for a Day – coming soon!!
